I shoot on manual exclusively now, no longer trusting automatic modes. The wheel that controls shutter speeds on my Nikon D500 sits where the thumb of my right hand can unknowingly access it during the excitement of a short session with a bird. I moved my shutter speed that should have been around 1/1250 sec to 1/3200, thus underexposing severely. The LCD was black on these frames. So, hearing that even these shots could be "rescued" in Lightroom, I worked on them there. Noise was bad, of course, but I was able to mitigate that some in editing.
