Dragonfly photos shot with a Nikon D7100 half size sensor camera and Sigma 150 - 600S lens hand held, which is not an easy feat. This was done by the lens alone without converter or close up lens attached at the equivalent focal length of 900 mm. Recently someone stopped to ask my advice about equipment for wildlife. I'm no expert, but I could advise to not get an expensive full frame sensor camera for this. That only cuts your focal length down. With the half frame camera I get 900 mm out of a 600 mm lens. I believe the quality is better than if you took a full frame shot and cropped it to this equivalent magnification.
